Ferguson Hall
First opened in 1954, Hattie Mays Ferguson Hall, affectionately known as “Ferg” by generations of residents, has long been a welcoming place for Wayland students to call home. Combining historic character with updated community spaces, Ferguson Hall offers a traditional residence hall experience that fosters connection and community.
Hall Features
- Cost: $1,415 per 16-week semester
- Room Style: Double-occupancy rooms
- Room Furnishings:
- Two beds (extra-long twin mattresses)
- Two dressers and nightstands
- Two closets with additional overhead storage
- Two desks with chairs
- Mirrored vanity with lighting in each room
Community Amenities
- Updated lobby area with a variety of seating designed for studying, gathering, and connecting with other residents
- Laundry facilities located in the basement
Community Bathrooms
Ferguson Hall features five community bathrooms throughout the building:
- Main Floor: Two bathrooms
- Second Floor: Two bathrooms
- Basement: One bathroom
Each bathroom includes:
- Two sinks
- Two showers
- At least two toilets
Community bathrooms are professionally maintained Monday through Friday by the university housekeeping team. Toilet paper and paper towels are provided by the university in all community bathrooms.

Owen Hall

Owen Hall offers a comfortable and community-focused residence hall experience with four-person suites, furnished rooms, and inviting shared spaces. Known for its quieter atmosphere, Owen Hall provides an environment that supports study, reflection, and a residential community.

The Prayer Room, located on the second floor, provides a quiet space for residents to read, reflect, pray, and connect with God throughout the semester.

Davis Hall
As the newest women’s residence hall, Davis Hall offers a more private and spacious living experience designed with upperclassmen in mind. Residents enjoy single bedrooms, private bathrooms, and shared suite-style living spaces in a quieter residential environment.
- Eligibility: Davis Hall is designated as a senior-only residence hall and is primarily available to students with senior standing (90+ completed credit hours).

- Private Bedrooms: Each resident has an individual bedroom and private bathroom

Community Amenities
- Laundry facilities located on the south side of the first floor
- Available for summer housing
Senior Housing Priority
Because demand often exceeds available space, a waiting list is maintained using:
- Housing application submission date
- Total completed credit hours
The waiting list is established through fall housing applications and remains active to fill vacancies through the completion of the spring term.

Residence Hall Amenities
- Laundry: Available in each residence hall through an app-based system (no quarters needed). Residents receive 48 prepaid laundry loads per 16-week term (3 loads per week, including wash and dry cycles). Additional loads may be purchased through the app for $1.50 per cycle.
- Internet: Wireless internet and in-room network connections are available in every residence hall room.
- Vending: Snack and drink machines are available in each residence hall.
Community Standards: Alcohol, tobacco, and firearms are prohibited in university housing.
Private Rooms
Private rooms may be available based on occupancy and space availability, but cannot be guaranteed.
All residents are assigned roommates based on responses submitted in the Housing Application. Students assigned to a room without a roommate, either by request or room availability, incur an additional private room fee per 16-week term, assessed on Census Day.
Private room assignments do not automatically continue from one semester to the next. As outlined in the Occupancy License Agreement, Wayland reserves the right to assign or reassign roommates as needed.
