The Malouf Abraham Family Art Center
Designed to increase cultural awareness and artistic heritage, the gallery was made possible thanks to the generosity of Dr. Malouf and Therese Abraham.
An avid art collector and patron, Dr. Abraham designed the gallery space in collaboration with the Frank Lloyd Wright Institute. The result is one of the finest and most elegant galleries in the Southwest.
Students at Wayland and local community members take advantage of the wonderful opportunities the gallery provides. Season exhibits include a variety of shows featuring a full range of medias such as sculpture, metalwork, and acrylic and oil paintings, techniques and concepts. Exhibits feature works of both established professional and emerging regional artists, as well as showcases of nationally renowned collections.

The juror for this year's exhibition is Pauline Mills. Pauline Mills grew up in Cork, Ireland visiting art galleries, museums & churches before she moved to America in 1986 & started a family. Mills works as a doula, but her true passion is art; she pursues many art forms & techniques, focusing primarily on glass mosaics. In 2009, she bought two warehouses in Lubbock that have since become Glassyalley, Mills's art studio & instruction space for traditional mosaics.
She offers mosaic classes in a range of 3D media like jewelry, fabrics, sculpture and stained glass, as well as geodes, quilling & welding, among others. She also creates her own themed mosaic kits to sell at farmer's markets or for those who are unable to attend her classes. Glassyalley is a welcoming space not just for Mills to create her own art, but as an art gallery & antique shop for the whole community to enjoy & participate in creativity. A member of the Contemporary Mosaic Artists of America, & the Society of American Mosaic Artists, Mills is the only mosaicist currently teaching her craft in Lubbock.
